Whole 30 - Day 19

Thursday - Laying up in bed day

It's actually been kind of awesome. I spent most of the day in bed hanging out with Dani, who had a sick day. And so far, the pain hasn't really kicked in. So she's been bringing me ice and we've been playing games and watching The Jungle Book.

While I was downstairs for breakfast, I prepped one of our favorite go-to dinners. Crock pot chicken/or turkey with gravy. So easy and yummy!

Season and brown turkey pieces (I used two drumsticks and two thighs) on the stove in some oil. Toss in the slow cooker and cover with sliced onions (cut into thin half moons). Add two cans of Golden Mushroom soup, and since I also had a jar of turkey gravy, so I tossed that in there too. I set the thing for 6 hours and went back upstairs.

These are not my hands. :)
Before dinner, I made rice for everyone else, and turned half a zucchini into "spaghetti" with my spiralizer. This thing is so fun to use!

I'm going to try and make some more stuff today.
  • Breakfast: Hash browns mixed with diced green peppers, bacon and fried eggs (10:30 am)
  • Lunch: Nothing really
  • Snack: Lemon Larabar -- these could be dangerous! Raw cashews, blueberries
  • Dinner: Smothered turkey in the crock pot and spiraled zucchini noodles
