Okay, I cheated this morning. I got on the scale.
I'd told myself I wouldn't do it for 30 days, but in all fairness, the scale is not my weakness. I used to get on it religiously, but lately, I just didn't want to know the number. And where I am now, I'm trying to be more in tune with the other things going on in my body, so I'm not super-fixated on what the numbers on that device read.
But I had to know. Is this making ANY difference?
And I have to say ... yes, it is. I started at 155, and today, the scale read 148. I haven't seen this side of 150 in while!
I'll try to do better the rest of the time and not get on it again. Maybe I'll just do once a week . . . or not. But I will say, it's given me comfort to know that even though I feel I'm eating a TON of food, and even though I used to feel I ate pretty well . . . whatever I've done in these last 8 days has made a difference. My body is recognizing something different, and hopefully I've gotten to that point where it's burning fat for fuel and not just glucose. That alone is worth celebrating!

- Breakfast: One scotch egg, coffee with crap almond/coconut creamer.
- Lunch: Leftover roasted Brussels sprouts, bacon and chicken hash topped with two fried eggs (I worked from home.)
- Dinner: Mahi Mahi burger (Trader Joe's), salad with shaved Brussels sprouts, red cabbage, beets, snow peas, almonds and dried cherries. Mustard vinaigrette (oil, Dijon, apple cider vinegar and squeezed red grapefruit).
One thing to note, the family had deep dish pizza, and even though it smelled pretty good, it didn't kill me not to eat it.
In the past, when I tried to eat something other than pizza, I would eat first so that I wouldn't be hungry when the pizza arrived. And then I would still end up eating one or two slices anyway. So I'm happy about the fact that not only did I resist eating it, but turning it down wasn't as difficult as it's been in the past.

Yay for you on resisting the pizza! Not sure I could do that - at least not yet. And congrats on the weight loss! I know it's "breaking the rules," but it is encouraging to know that you are both seeing and feeling results. I have avoided the scale for years now, and I don't plan to change that anytime soon, but I'll keep telling myself that next week, when I get to where you are now, I'll be feeling better and hopefully noticing some difference in how my clothes fit. :)
